New data and report available in MARTA

Geophysical data acquired for the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (Miljøstyrelsen/MST) in 2024 in 13 common areas/potential common areas (Mosede, Grønne Revle, Lysegrunde, Bolsaks, Hasmark, Tørresø, Fløjstrup Skov, Wulffs Flak, Nord for Wulffs Flak, Anholt Øst, Skagens Rev, Jyske Rev C, Jyske Rev E) as well as 3 areas within the Marine Spatial Plan’s resource zones where data coverage was insufficient (Horns Rev, Vestkysten and Jyske Rev Vest) are now available for download from: MARTA/Data for download.

The results from the MST resource mapping program in 2019-2020 in the areas Jammerbugt, Horns Rev and Vestkysten in the North Sea can now be downloaded as GEUS Reports from from: MARTA/Reports/Geological.

Metadata for datasets acquired by NCC in 2023 in the common areas 548-AA, 520-EA, 520-EF, 520-EB and 520-EG in Fakse Bugt is now visible here: MARTA/All Sailing Lines. Data is confidential.

Mapping data from 2024 available in MARTA

In 2024, GEUS acquired new geophysical data for the Danish Environmental Protection Agency in 13 selected common areas/potential common areas: (Mosede, Grønne Revle, Lysegrunde, Bolsaks, Hasmark, Tørresø, Fløjstrup Skov, Wulffs Flak, Nord for Wulffs Flak, Anholt Øst, Skagens Rev, Jyske Rev C, Jyske Rev E) as well as in 3 areas within the Marine Spatial Plan’s resource zones where data coverage is insufficient (Horns Rev, Vestkysten and Jyske Rev Vest).
The collected sparker, Innomar and sidescan sonar data are now available from MARTA/Data for download.

New MARTA downloading facility

The downloading facility in MARTA has been updated. Survey data released for download is now placed in the ‘cloud’ on a Microsoft Azure platform, which provides a faster and more user-friendly function. The web map MARTA/lines/data for download/ still provides an overview of surveys available for download. By clicking on any sailing line in a desired survey, a new page opens with access to data as zip files. Surveys will often contain 2 data packages, one with seismic data and one with sidescan sonar data, which can be downloaded separately. The size of the data zip-files is indicated. For some surveys, the data packages are too large for download via Azure. Here, another data transfer can be agreed via the indicated GEUS email address.

Date for updating Jupiter download

On October 23, we will be conducting an update to our systems that will affect the downloading of the PCJupiter and PCJupiterXL databases, as well as the uploading and downloading of the Modeldb databases. In conjunction with this update, SQL Server will be upgraded to version 14.0.1. Moving forward, we will support the following MS Access versions: 2000, 2003, 2007, and 2010. Please be aware that we will no longer support MS Access version 97 following this update. The purpose of the update is to align our systems with the latest requirements for enhanced data security.

Update of Jupiter download.

In the near future, we will migrate our system to download the PCJupiter and PCJupiterXL databases, as well as upload and download of Modeldb databases. As part of the update, the SQLserver will be upgraded to version 14.0.1. Additionally, we will support MS Access versions: 2000, 2003, 2007, and 2010. Please note that Access 97 will no longer be supported. During the update process, there may be temporary operational disruptions, which could also affect the upload and download of PCGerda databases. This update is being implemented due to increased security requirements. The update process can cause temporary operational disruptions, which can also impact the upload and download of PCGerda databases. We will inform you of the exact time of the update as soon as it is determined. This change is made to meet requirements for enhanced security

Short resource reports ready for download

It is now possible to download short one-page resource reports, which provide an overview and facts about mapped resource areas in Inner Danish waters, including the western Baltic Sea and the sea around Bornholm.
The reports can be accessed via the Marta by activating “Report” under the “Resources” menu.

New report on marine resource mapping in the Inner Danish Waters 2021

As a result of Denmark’s first marine spatial plan initiative, raw material extraction areas are basically limited to being laid out within development zones according to the marine spatial plan. In order to increase knowledge of the raw material resources within these development zones, GEUS has carried out a raw material mapping for the Danish Environmental Protection Agency in 2021 in the Southern Kattegat, the Belt Sea and the Western Baltic Sea.

After the collection, GEUS has processed and interpreted the new seismic data and boreholes. The results from this have – combined with the existing knowledge – meant that the raw material resources in a large part of the inland Danish waters have been updated. The report presents the overall results of the mapping in terms of the distribution and volume of the raw material resources, together with a classification of the occurrences, resource types and confidence.

New survey lines in common areas

In 2022 GEUS acquired new seismic data for Miljøstyrelsen in 20 common areas /fællesområder) in the inner Danish waters. The surevy lines is now visible in Marta. To get an overview, write “2022” in the “survey-year” field.

New raw material cores in common areas

The geological descriptions of 53 raw material vibrocores collected by GEUS in 2022 as part of Miljøstyrelsen raw material mapping program of the common areas in the inner Danish waters, is now available in MARTA.
